ET HU

ET HU has been working as a film planner and producer. Her interest in creative industry encouraged her into the film career and found it the most exciting platform to develop the interest. She got the master’s degree in Beijing Film Academy and then worked as a scriptwriter and producer. In 2005, She and her partner Lola inaugurated the ‘Chinese New Cinema: the Yunnan Project’ for young women directors, managing the operation of the whole project. One of the reasons that ET wins is that she involved many new talents outside of the traditional Chinese film industry in her Yunnan film project, such as independant musicians and illustrators and has a strong sense of building network of young creative entrepreneurs.

'Chinese New Cinema: the Yunnan Project’ aims to provide an exciting platform from which Chinese young filmmakers can explore their creative potential. The project has involved ten women filmmakers from the Chinese Mainland, Hongkong and Taiwan got together to make ten films in and about the mysterious Yunnan province, and three features of the project have been completed now. Since the time the project was started, many more talented filmmakers have joined it.
