On February 5th, the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Chinese Modern Art Exhibition will be held in the National Agriculture Exhibition Center, the Wall Art Museum and the Today Art Museum.

The ceremony is composed of three parts:

Part one is the anniversary celebration itself held in No.5 Hall of the National Agriculture Exhibition Center.

Part two is the Documentary Exhibition of Chinese Modern Art held in the Wall Art Museum.

The Display Ceremony of “The Seven Deadly Sins” will be held before the Exhibition Ceremony in the Today Art Museum.

The Chinese Modern Art Exhibition not only gave an overall review to the “New Fashion Fine Art in 1985”, but also foretold the development trend of modern arts in the 1990s, marking one of the most significant episodes in Chinese Fine Art history. The gunshot in this exhibition drew even more domestic and overseas attentions to Chinese Modern Arts. Twenty years later, we hold this grand ceremony to remember the epoch marking significance of the Chinese Modern Art Exhibition.

The ceremony is planned and organized by Mr. Gao Minglu, the then director of the Organizing Committee of Modern Art Exhibition; Wang Mingxian, the former member of the Organizing Committee, and some others are consultants of the ceremony.

The Display Ceremony of “The Seven Deadly Sins” held in the Today Art Museum will be planned and organized by Wen Pulin, the renowned exhibition organizer and artist, reviewing the sensational “seven performance arts” in the Exhibition 20 years ago.

The Documentary Exhibition of “Chinese Modern Art Exhibition” held in the Wall Art Museum will show for the first time the original documents of Chinese Modern Art Exhibition 20 years ago. Most of the documents, including photos, videos, correspondent letters and exhibition archives, come from the import documents collected by Gao Minglu and his friends in the past several decades.

In the Exhibition, the former members of the Consultant Committee, the Planning and Organizing Committee, artists present as well as the old generation of artists and critics, guests from the former eight sponsors of the Chinese Modern Art Museum and important artists who are still active in the art field will attend the ceremony.

The ceremony is solely sponsored by the Chinese Contemporary Art Foundation, and co-held by the Wall Art Museum, the Institute of Gao Minglu Modern and Contemporary Art and the Beijing Today Art Museum. The ceremony is a gala of openness, and it welcomes everyone from the art field of China!
