"Erotic Exhibition" Opens at Hadrien de Montferrand Gallery

After the success of its first two shows, Hadrien de Montferrand Gallery is honoured to present a group show of erotic creations on paper never exhibited before.

After the success of its first two shows, a group show of erotic creations on paper is held at Hadrien de Montferrand Gallery .

This show features from leading Chinese and Western contemporary creators including figurative and abstract painters, sculptors, writers, graffiti artists and photographers.It says this is the FIRST show in Beijing exclusively dedicated to erotic works on paper.And it is also the FIRST show in 798 to feature work commissioned by visitors as the world famous Shanghai author Mian Mian will write love letters for the visitors.

The participating artisits include Chen Wenbo, Marianne Daquet, Guo Wei, He An, Hong Hao, Huang Rui, Claudia Huidobro, Li Yong, H.H. Lim, Lin Yillin, Liu Xiaodong, Liu Yu, Ma Zhaoren, Mao Yan, Mian Mian, Pu Jie, Alessandro Rolandi, Anne-Laure Sacriste, Song Yongping, Sui Jianguo, Barthélémy Toguo, Xia Xing, Yang Jiechang, Yehidea, Zhou Weihua and a selection of graffiti artists curated by WEESTAR...

From the oldest sex manuals in the world dating back to 200 B.C. discovered in China to the “Summer Palace Paintings” of the Ming Dynasty, the connection between eroticism and paper in China is a very ancient and important one. But eroticism is also a universal theme which has been examined by artists all over the world.

The exhibition features the perspective of more than twenty leading contemporary creators from 3 continents on eroticism.

The exhibited works are from leading contemporary artists presented at the Venice Biennale, the Guanzhou Triennial, the Pompidou Art Center in Paris (Europe’s largest contemporary art museum), the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the ARCO art fair in Madrid. Their works have been collected by the British Museum in London, the Guy and Miriam Ullens Foundation, the Daniel and Florence Guerlain Foundation (leading drawing collection) and by the Paris Modern Art Museum.
