Yuan Huijuan Solo Exhibition
Congratulations. Hui Juan Melgårdsbakken's exhibition project
Regarding Hui Juan Melgårdsbakken's exhibition "Pursuit of a Dream"
I want to congratulate Hui Juan Melgårdsbakken for her grand exhibition in Jiangsu Province Art Museum in Nanjing the coming week.
The Norwegian-Chinese artist, originally from the historical city of Nanjing, has crossed many geographical borders in her life and career. However, in the arts there are no borders. The arts show what we all have in common, Norwegians and the Chinese alike. Because visual art is a common language, a universal language, shared across oceans, regions, countries and frontiers. In this way, visual art – paintings, prints and drawings – works like a dialogue between the artist and her audience, an international exchange of memories, minds and thoughts. We find things – like motifs, symbols, signs or colours – that we can identify with. We can take part in a dream.
In addition to the Jiangsu Province Art Museum, I want to thank the Jiangsu International Exchange Centre in particular for their support to Hui Juan Melgårdsbakken’s exhibition, for making her “Pursuit of a Dream” come true.
